Customer Support 2.0

Yesterday, I posted a tweet on how much I am missing LiveWriter in the Mac environment where I spend a good amount of my time these days. I was looking for a similar offline blog writer application because WordPress’ native post writer is not exactly what I call a user friendly application.

One of my most missed features of Live Writer was that I could drag and drop a picture in the blog post and the application automatically adjusts its size and uploads it to the blog.

I knew that one of my options is to work with Live Writer in a virtual Windows environment such as VMWare or Parallels, but I didn’t expect to get personalized support from the team of VMWare through twitter !

This morning I had a look at my twitter replies, where I found out that twitter account @vmwarefusion – which BTW I don’t follow – had replied to my tweet suggesting to work with their VMWare Fusion for Mac product! I had a quick look to their twitter account where I discovered that they don’t follow or get followed by a large amount of people, however its seems that they monitor twitter since they understand that their audiences are active there, responding to discussions relevant to their products and technologies.

Pretty close to my customer support 2.0 definition !

  1. Customer Support 2.0 also means we will follow you to your blog. (Still no Mac port though, sorry.)
